Our Story
Chick-fil-A, Inc.
Truett and his wife Jeanette invented our Original Chicken Sandwich. Their idea was simple: a sandwich using a plump, juicy chicken breast. So began the success story that is still being written - and eaten- today. In 1946, S. Truett Cathy and his brother opened the Dwarf Grill in South Atlanta. Even so, it was only open six days a week, never on Sunday. In 1967, Truett pioneered in-mall dining with the first Chick-fil-A in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Mall. The free-standing Chick-fil-A opened in 1986. Today, Chick-fil-A is one of the largest privately-owned restaurant chains in the nation. Along the way Chick-fil-A introduced our Original Chicken Sandwich, waffle potato fries, and Icedream. When they were young, the Cathy’s children - Bubba Trudy and Dan - greeted and entertained customers. They’re still here today, along with their children, carrying on the family tradition and keeping Chick-fil-A true to its heritage: Good people, serving really good food everyday, except Sunday.
Chick-fil-A Carlsbad West
In 2009, Tyler and his wife began their Chick-fil-A journey as team members at their local Chick-fil-A in San Marcos, CA. Tyler’s experience at Chick-fil-A helped him discover his desire for developing leaders, passion for great tasting food, and helping people win in their lives. In 2012, Tyler started dreaming of becoming a Chick-fil-A Owner/Operator. In 2015, Tyler and his family saw real estate potential for a Chick-fil-A coming to the community of Carlsbad which ignited their prayer journey. In 2019, Tyler and his family got accepted into Chick-fil-A’s Leadership Development Program and they traveled for Chick-fil-A full-time for 4 years. Whenever they were home visiting, they would often visit the property and pray over the future of Chick-fil-A Carlsbad West. In March of 2023, Tyler rang the cow bell and became the Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Carlsbad West, a dream come true that had been in the making for the past 15 years.
